Two first half tries were enough for Loughor to win through to Rd 4 in spite of an unrelenting effort from Dunvant.

Score:
Loughor: 10

Tries (2)
Dunvant: 3
Penalty 19 Richard Lewis
Half-Time: Loughor10 Dunvant 3

Dunvant had to make some late changes to the announced team with Jamie Nicholas dropping out with work commitments, Chris Gorvett off the bench to 4, Lewis Buckley on the bench replaced by Shaun Davies and Craig Hawkins coming on to the bench.
Within 4 minutes of Dunvant’s kick off, with Loughor’s big strong pack prevailing with lots of pressure, a 5 metre lineout to the back set up a rolling maul to drive over the line, Shane Davies failing with the conversion attempt for 5-0. Dunvant were starting to make inroads but on 22 minutes a chip into to Dunvant’s 22 was chased back by Dunvant’s full back Adam Williams –Parry and as he went to ground, Loughors’s No 8 went straight in on top of him, not allowing him to get up and with a dodgy tackle which many Dunvant supporters thought merited a red card, he was extremely fortunate to get away with a yellow. Adam who had been making some of his trademark runs was forced to come off injured and Dunvant had to reshape their back line with Richard Lewis off the bench to 10, Aled Lewis from 10 to 9, Sam Gallagher at 9 to 14 and Tom Davies at 14 to 15.
No sooner had the sin bin expired when Loughor repeated their first try to go over again, unconverted for a 10-0 lead. Dunvant got the next score with a penalty from Richard Lewis.
The second half was more evenly balanced with Dunvant upping the tempo but Richard Lewis was unable to convert 2 penalty kicks at goal and Loughor failed with one as well, so no scores in the second half, and Rhys Tucker had 10 minutes in the bin for taking a player out without the ball. Loughor now go into the draw for the 4th round. Elsewhere in the Plate Skewen beat Maesteg Quins 23-8 so Dunvant’s home league game against Skewen on 17th January will now be postponed as Skewen will also be in Round 4. In Division 1 West central Waunarlwydd won 43-11 against Cwmllynfell so now move up to 4th place. Next up for Dunvant is a trip to Seven Sisters on 27th December.
