Dunvant overcame a youthful and enterprising Ammanford side scoring 5 tries in an entertaining encounter at Broadacre with the Athletic sharing the spoils with Bonymaen in their opening fixtures in the national leagues. The championship match was notable for second row Morgan Bevan reaching the milestone of 100 consecutive appearances for the club, a remarkable achievement for a product of the junior sections. In addition there were three senior debuts for Ryan Davies, Ben Davies and Luke Rees who all featured well continuing the succession of junior players to the senior sides, all 4 are seen in the photograph. Morgan was presented with his 100 cap in the clubhouse by his father and club secretary Alun after the match.
The Athletic side came back strongly from a half time deficit to finish 29-29 with Bonymaen, another junior product Harry Hughes being named man of the match with 2 tries and a vital conversion at the end to tie the match.

Another well known face at Broadacre making a welcome return was former player Mefin Davies who was watching his son play for Ammanford.
